THE SEMPER FI FUND
The Semper Fi Fund was established in May 2004, after a nurse at the Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital saw first-hand the needs of those returning home from battle. She gathered together a group of Marine spouses with diverse backgrounds to implement a plan to provide financial grants to Post-9/11 wounded Marines, Sailors, and other service members serving with Marine forces, and their families.
Since its inception, the Fund has granted more than $50 million dollars to help defray the expenses incurred during hospitalization, rehabilitation and recovery. The Fund has received an A+ rating from the American Institute of Philanthropy and a “Four Star” rating from Charity Navigator, organizations designed to help donors make decisions on where to give.
Gifts to the Semper Fi Fund will help further their mission by helping service members and their families purchase adaptive transportation, adaptive equipment or home modifications as they transition back to their communities. They also continue to assist the families as they receive follow-on care for their injuries, as well as Combat Operational Stress and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder at VA Hospitals near their homes.
