ABOUT US
We are a group of about 45 Marine and Navy veterans - many of whom served at the now-closed Glenview Naval Air Station in Glenview, Illinois - who have been meeting for a quarterly lunch since 2006. With members who have served from WWII to the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, we know what it is like to leave loved ones and go to foreign lands to fight the enemies of our country; and what it is like to be in harms way and to have sons, daughters, and other family members in harms way. We have great empathy for those who have been wounded and are experiencing disability, the pain of recovery, and the inevitable pressure of financial issues.
On November 10, 2009, the 234th birthday of the United States Marine Corps, we launched a drive to solicit contributions to help these wounded heroes. To maximize our effectiveness, we aligned our efforts with the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Our members are also working closely with a representative of the Wounded Warrior Regiment to address the needs of those receiving care at, or residing in the vicinity of, Naval Station Great Lakes, where we have been visiting for years.
Today, Americans go out of their way at airports, restaurants, and other public places to thank servicemen and women for their service. Our goal is to give these patriotic Americans the opportunity to thank these wounded heroes by making a donation to the Semper Fi Fund. This is a situation in which the fact that you care enough to make a gift speaks as loudly as the amount of the gift.
If you have any comments or want to get involved in our efforts to help wounded Marines and Sailors, please contact Jim Baisley or Chris O'Donnell.
